Tennis Club 2009
Hagbourne Tennis Club was founded in 2001 by a group of Hagbourne residents who decided that a lack of facilities in the village would not deter them from taking part in sport. Membership rose as far as 70 members, half of whom are juniors. Membership has dwindled recently with the protracted efforts to establish courts within the village.
There are no tennis courts in the village and the club did hire courts each week from April to the end of September in Didcot for one 2 hour session at weekends and a one-hour long weekday session.
The club did not hire the courts at St Birinus School last year due to the committee being unable to commit to be present and open the courts at every session. The existing club members currently play at clubs in local villages and are committed to pursue the building of courts in the village where they will be able to play as a club again and to rebuild the membership.
If you live close to us and wish to play tennis please get in touch.
